Laser consultation

30 minutes, free of charge, bookable online. We will discuss your skin type, expectations, and medications in detail.

Shave 24 hours beforehand

Ideally, the day before your appointment. No waxing or plucking in the four weeks leading up to it.

Treatment

15–60 minutes depending on the number of zones. Safety goggles, CrystalFreeze™ cooling, you provide feedback.

After the treatment

Slight redness may occur, but this will subside within a few hours. Avoid heat, saunas and exercise for 48 hours.

Shedding

The treated hairs will fall out naturally 1–3 weeks after the session. This is normal.

• How much does laser hair removal for women cost at alestetics® in Zurich?

  One single zone costs CHF 100–200 per session, depending on size: Bikini line, underarms, upper lip or chin CHF 100, upper thighs or lower legs CHF 200. In the package you pay significantly less: 3 zones CHF 300 (e.g. complete legs + armpits), 4 zones CHF 350, 5 zones CHF 400. In the 5-session plan over 6 months, the 5th session is included. The laser consultation is free.
• What do ‘Brazilian’, ‘Hollywood’ and ‘French’ mean when it comes to bikinis?

  Every studio uses these terms differently. At alestetics®, we divide them into four clear zones: Bikini line (CHF 100), Intimate excluding bikini line (CHF 150), Perianal – the buttock crease (CHF 150), and Buttocks (CHF 200). Brazilian means bikini line + intimate area; Hollywood includes everything, adding the perianal area. In a 3-, 4-, or 5-zone package, you can combine intimate zones with any other zones.
• How many sessions do I need for my legs, bikini line or underarms?

  In large areas such as legs on average 6–10 sessions A permanent reduction of 80–90% is realistic. This is usually the case for the bikini line, underarms and face 5–8 sessions. The first three sessions are spaced four weeks apart; thereafter, the intervals are tailored to the individual — usually five to six weeks, and later up to eight weeks apart. Hormonal factors, hair colour, skin type and consistency in adhering to the intervals all influence the outcome. Some women also need Maintenance 1–2 times a year — that’s biology, not a failed treatment.
  When should I start so that I'm ready for summer?

  Ideally in autumn. It takes 5–10 sessions spaced 4–8 weeks apart because hair grows in cycles. Those who start in October or November will complete most of the sessions by summer. Additionally, in autumn and winter the skin is not tanned – then the laser works most safely.
• Does laser treatment on the bikini line and underarms hurt?

  Thanks to CrystalFreeze™ sapphire cooling at a constant 5°C, the treatment is easy to tolerate. You feel brief pulses, like a warm pinch. More sensitive zones such as the bikini line, intimate area, or underarms feel stronger than the thighs — but hurt far less than waxing. You give feedback throughout the session, and we adjust the intensity right away.
• Can I have laser treatment whilst I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

  Laser hair removal is strictly contraindicated during pregnancy — we do not treat. We also exercise caution during breastfeeding and assess each case individually. If you are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, we will schedule your first appointment for after you have finished breastfeeding. Hormone-related hair growth during or after pregnancy often takes several months to return to normal — we will wait together for the right moment.
• Is laser treatment effective for PCOS or hormone-related hair growth?

  Yes, laser also works for PCOS, hirsutism, and hormonal hair growth — with clear limits we explain upfront. Hormonal hair growth needs more sessions than standard cases, and hormone shifts can trigger new hairs over time. Maintenance 2–4× a year is often part of the long-term plan.
• Is laser suitable for sensitive skin, redness or darker skin types?

  Yes — Primelase® 810 nm diode laser suits Fitzpatrick skin types I to VI, including darker skin tones. CrystalFreeze™ sapphire cooling at a constant 5°C protects the skin surface, even on sensitive or redness-prone skin. For reactive skin, we start with a patch test to fine-tune the settings.
• Does laser treatment work on very light, grey or blonde hair?

  The effect is reduced on very light, grey or red hair. The laser works by targeting the melanin (pigment) in the hair — the darker the hair, the more efficiently the energy is absorbed. In blonde, light blonde, white or grey hair this pigment is largely absent, meaning that the treatment is less effective. In dark blonde, brown or black hair Primelase®, on the other hand, is very effective — we’ll be happy to clarify this during your free consultation based on your hair colour.
• When is laser hair removal not suitable for women?

  Laser treatment is not possible in the following cases:

  • Pregnancy (absolute contraindication)
  • Active infections or herpes in the treatment area
  • Skin cancer or suspicious skin changes in the treatment area
  • Tattoos directly in the treatment area (pigments react with the laser)
  • Photosensitising medicines (certain antibiotics, antidepressants)
  • Isotretinoin treatment (at least 6 months’ interval after completion)
  • Freshly tanned or sunburnt skin (at least 4 weeks' interval)

  At very light, grey or red hair the effect is reduced. We do not treat patients under the age of 18.
