• How much does laser hair removal for men cost at alestetics® in Zurich?

  One single zone costs CHF 100–200 per session, depending on size – for example, upper back, chest or shoulders CHF 150, neck or chin CHF 100. In the package you pay significantly less: 3 zones CHF 300 (e.g. full back: upper, lower, shoulders – individually CHF 450), 4 zones CHF 350, 5 zones CHF 400. The full beard (4 zones) is also available as a package. In the 5-session plan over 6 months, the 5th session is included. The laser consultation is free.
  I can't shave my back myself – what now?

  No problem: We shave on-site for CHF 50 per zone. Or someone helps you the day before with a razor – please do not wax, epilate or pluck.
  When should I start so I can be finished by summer?

  Ideally in autumn. It usually takes 6–10 sessions spaced at 4–8 weeks, because hair grows in cycles. Those who start in October or November will be through most of the sessions by summer. Additionally: In autumn and winter the skin is not tanned – then the laser works most safely.

  The back is particularly popular among men because it is practically impossible to shave it yourself. Most men combine it in a package – for example, the back all in one: top, bottom and shoulders (3-zone package CHF 300).

• How many sessions are needed for back, chest or beard design?

  On the back, chest, and stomach, 6–10 sessions typically achieve an 80–90% permanent reduction. The beard and neck often need more sessions because the hair is denser. The first 3 sessions are spaced 4 weeks apart, then 5–6 weeks, and later up to 8 weeks. As men age, new hairs can develop on the back and shoulders — a touch-up 1–2× a year keeps them in check. That is biology, not a treatment flaw.
• Does laser treatment hurt the back, intimate area, or beard area?

  Thanks to CrystalFreeze™ sapphire cooling at a constant 5°C, the treatment is easy to tolerate. You feel brief pulses, like a warm pinch. More sensitive zones such as the beard line, intimate area, buttock crease, or underarms feel stronger than the back or legs — but hurt far less than waxing. You give feedback throughout the session, and we adjust the intensity right away.
• Can I get laser treatment as a man with tattoos?

  Tattoos directly in the treatment area are a contraindication — The laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in the tattoo, which can lead to the burning or alteration of the tattoo. We treat around tattoos with corresponding safety distance (approx. 2 cm). For large-area tattoos (e.g. back image, sleeve), laser hair removal is not possible in this area. We will be honest in our free consultation — sometimes it is still worth treating the tattoo-free areas.
• Is laser suitable for dark skin types (Fitzpatrick V–VI)?

  Yes — Primelase® 810 nm diode laser is safe for Fitzpatrick skin types I to VI, including very dark skin. CrystalFreeze™ sapphire cooling at a constant 5°C protects the epidermis from hyperpigmentation. For skin types V–VI, we use tailored settings and often start with a patch test to check how your skin responds.
• Does the laser work on blonde, grey or red hair?

  The effect is reduced on very light, grey or red hair. The laser works by targeting the melanin (pigment) in the hair — the darker the hair, the more efficiently the energy is absorbed. In blonde, light blonde, white or grey hair this pigment is largely absent, meaning that the treatment is less effective. In dark blonde, brown or black hair Primelase®, on the other hand, is very effective — we’ll be happy to clarify this during your free consultation based on your hair colour.
• How discreet is the treatment — especially in intimate areas?

  Discretion is standard here, not an extra. Our clinic at Konradstrasse 1 is on the first floor, with no street-level shop windows — no one sees who comes or goes. Treatment rooms stay closed, and we communicate in a clear, matter-of-fact way without unnecessary remarks. • What do I do with shaving cream and ingrown hair on my beard?

  Pseudofollikulitis Barbae (razor bumps caused by ingrown beard hairs) is one of the most common male indications with us. The principle is simple: Where no more hair grows, no hair can also roll up under the skin.. With laser we permanently resolve the cause. If you keep your beard, we target only the problematic areas — usually Neckline and lower cheeks. If you want it completely smooth, we laser the entire beard area. After 6–10 sessions, the razor bumps usually disappear. For many men, this is the end of years of skin problems.
• When is laser hair removal not suitable for men?

  Laser treatment is not possible in the following cases:

  • Active infections or herpes in the treatment area
  • Skin cancer or suspicious skin changes in the treatment area
  • Tattoos directly in the treatment area (pigments react with the laser)
  • Photosensitising medicines (certain antibiotics, antidepressants)
  • Isotretinoin therapy / Roaccutan (at least 6 months between courses)
  • Freshly tanned or sunburnt skin (at least 4 weeks' interval)
