In short
During a HydraFacial, we cleanse and gently exfoliate your skin before infusing an active serum called a booster. Two boosters we use most often at alestetics® come from Circadia and were developed exclusively for HydraFacial. ProTec Plus focuses on moisture and protection for stressed, dry skin. Chrono-Peptide uses peptides to soften fine lines and smooth skin texture. Which one fits best depends on your skin.
You want to get more out of your HydraFacial
Perhaps you have already had a HydraFacial and liked the glow afterwards. When booking, the question about the booster was then asked – and you weren’t quite sure which one was right for you. Or you’re wondering whether a booster really makes a difference.
The short answer: It does one thing. The booster determines what your skin gets after cleansing.
Why the booster in HydraFacial provides more results than at home
After cleansing and gentle exfoliation, the skin is particularly receptive. The HydraFacial device then applies the serum evenly using its vortex technology.
The extent of this difference is demonstrated by a controlled study. Twenty women received six treatments with an antioxidant serum: half using the HydraFacial Hydradermabrasion, the other half applying the same serum by hand. Only in the HydraFacial group did the skin appear measurably thicker, contained more antioxidants, and showed finer lines and pores. When applied by hand, nothing changed (Freedman 2008).
Circadia: Skin care according to the skin’s rhythm
Circadia is an American professional skincare brand founded in 2001 by Dr Peter T. Pugliese. Its concept builds on chronobiology: the skin follows a daily rhythm, defending itself by day and repairing itself at night. Together with HydraFacial, Circadia developed two boosters used exclusively in HydraFacial treatments.
ProTec Plus: Moisture and protection for stressed skin
ProTec Plus is the booster we use most often for sensitive, dry or stressed skin. According to the manufacturer, it contains six forms of hyaluronic acid as well as active ingredients that bind moisture and protect the skin from oxidative stress:
- Hyaluronic acid in several forms: binds water in the upper skin layer and makes the skin appear instantly plumper. Hyaluronic acid does not penetrate from the outside – that’s why we explain in more detail in the following video. Articles about hyaluronic acid creams.
- Diffuporine: a peptide that, according to the manufacturer, stimulates the water channels in the skin cells (aquaporins).
- Brightenyl: an antioxidant that protects the skin from free radicals and makes the complexion appear more even. More about free radicals in the article oxidative stress.
- AcquaCell: a moisture complex that smoothes fine lines of dryness.
In our «skin health first» concept, HydraFacial with ProTec Plus is part of the phase in which we strengthen stressed skin – often with dehydrated skin or inclination to Rashes and couperose.
Chrono-peptides: Peptides for finer lines
Chrono-Peptide is the booster for skin that is already stable and needs more support for fine lines and texture – in line with the concept of pre-aging. According to the manufacturer, it contains several signaling peptides:
- Chronocyclin: supposed to support the natural circadian rhythm of the skin cells, based on the effect of vitamin D.
- NeoDermyl: is intended to stimulate the formation of collagen and elastin.
- Matrixyl Synthe’6 and Matrixyl Morphomics: Peptides that strengthen the skin structure and make mimic wrinkles appear smoother.
Which booster is right for you?
| Your skin | Our recommendation |
|---|---|
| Sensitive, stressed, tightens or reddens quickly | ProTec Plus |
| Dry or pale, especially in winter | ProTec Plus |
| Stable, first fine lines, desire for a smoother texture | Chrono-peptides |
| Not sure what your skin needs right now | We decide together on the day of treatment |
What's at stake
A HydraFacial without the appropriate booster wastes away part of its potential. And a booster with many active ingredients is not automatically better for stressed skin. If you leave the choice to chance, you may get a glow, but not the care the skin needs right now.
We choose with you
On the day of treatment, we will examine your skin and ask about your skincare routine and daily life. After that, we will recommend the booster that suits your skin – not the most expensive one.
Your way in three steps
- Skin check: Before the HydraFacial, we check on your skin’s condition. For a comprehensive plan, we recommend the free AURA 3D skin analysis.
- HydraFacial with Booster: Cleaning, gentle exfoliation and the appropriate Circadia booster. On request, we can also add Dermadrop TDA and finally with LED light.
- Continue to care for at home: We show you how to prolong the effect of your care at home – including daily sun protection.
That's how it feels afterwards
You leave the clinic with skin that looks fresh and radiant. It doesn’t stretch and makeup sits better the next day. Regular treatments will make your skin more resilient step by step.
Your next step
Book your HydraFacial with Circadia-Booster – we choose the appropriate booster together on-site. If you want to know first what your skin needs in general, start with the free AURA 3D skin analysis.
