If your contours are softening and losing volume, a surface laser will do little — Volnewmer® RF works deep where the issue sits. For stretch marks and scars, Stellar M22™ ResurFX™ is the right choice. For couperose and visible vessels, you need Stellar M22™ IPL. And if a specific mole or lesion worries you, that belongs with a dermatologist, not us — we will tell you so even if you are already in our chair.
The treatment
What LaseMD Ultra™ does for your skin
LaseMD Ultra™ is a fractional thulium laser from Lutronic. It places thousands of microscopically fine dots into the uppermost layer of the skin, without removing it – and thus kick-starts the renewal that your skin performs more slowly over the years.
You already know, in principle, what happens during this process. Your skin constantly renews its top cells. This cycle takes longer at thirty than at twenty, and even longer at forty. What builds up, you see as dullness, as a rougher surface, as a complexion that no longer looks uniform. The laser gives this cycle a boost, and your skin does the rest itself.
The second part is the one that sets the treatment apart from everything you can do at home. For a few hours after the session, these fine channels are open. Active ingredients that would otherwise stay on the surface of intact skin can now actually penetrate. We use this window directly during the session – with a sterile active ingredient ampoule, tailored to your skin, for example with vitamins and peptides – this is not an add-on sale, it is the reason we chose this device.
The result is nothing anyone can name. Your skin looks more even, the surface smoother, the light falls differently on it. People will ask if you've been away.

The problem for us was: summer. And darker skin tones. Most light and pigment treatments require fair, untanned skin — from May onwards, the answer there is: come back in October. For a woman who has an important event in July or whose skin is naturally darker, this was an unsatisfactory answer.
LaseMD Ultra™ solves that because it targets differently. It doesn’t look for color in the skin; it looks for water — and water is present in every skin, regardless of skin tone and whether you just got back from vacation. What the studies say
A systematic review from 2025 analysed 17 studies with 448 participants. The majority of investigations demonstrated improvements in skin texture and pigmentation, with an acceptable safety profile. The authors explicitly point out that the treatment parameters varied significantly between the studies.
In a prospective study from 2023, participants with skin types II to IV received three sessions a month apart. The epidermis measurably thickened, and statistically significant improvements were observed in skin elasticity and wrinkles. Around 70 percent described themselves as satisfied or very satisfied afterwards.
We're writing this as plainly as we are because that's how it is. Anyone promising you percentages without qualification is trying to sell you something.

We don't have a standard package. What comes together in a session is decided based on your skin – in such a way that each step builds on the next. That's the difference between a treatment and a plan.
When the complexion looks sallow and pores are visible
First HydraFacial™. The cleansing process removes impurities and removes what has accumulated on the surface. After that, the laser targets the free skin instead of a layer of dead skin — the energy is distributed evenly, rather than being lost. Finally, the active ingredient ampoule is applied into the channels that are still open. One session yields a result that none of the steps alone would achieve.
If the contour gives way as well as the skin quality
First Volnewmer® RF. The radiofrequency works deep down, stimulating collagen production there over months. After that, LaseMD Ultra™ on the surface. The two don't interfere with each other because they work in different layers – you get building and renewal underneath and on top in one session.
If the texture is in the foreground
BioRePeel® or PRX-T33® first, followed by the laser. The peel prepares the surface so the laser works on receptive skin. We decide which peel suits you best on the day.
Possible on the same day
Fillmed NCTF® and PolyPhil™ can be added in the same session. We choose the combination that fits your skin.
Not in the same session

Skin quality you can see
The treatment takes about 45 minutes. Most people describe the heat as slightly tingling. After that, no redness usually appears, but rather small, fine crusts. They usually fall off on their own within 4–6 days — please do not scratch. Makeup can be applied starting the following day. How your skin reacts is individual — and we’ll measure it.

What is LaseMD Ultra™?
LaseMD Ultra™ is a fractional thulium laser from Lutronic with a wavelength of 1927 nm. It creates thousands of microscopic dots in the uppermost layer of the skin without ablating it, thus stimulating skin rejuvenation. At the same time, fine channels are created, allowing active ingredients to be better absorbed directly after treatment.
Who is LaseMD Ultra™ suitable for?
For everyone with concerns about complexion, skin texture, or pores. Because the laser works via water in the skin, not pigment, it is not limited to lighter skin types. For sagging contours or volume loss, a radiofrequency treatment is more suitable.
Does LaseMD Ultra™ hurt?
Most of our female clients describe the treatment as a warm sensation with slight tingling that subsides immediately after the procedure.
For how long is the downtime after LaseMD Ultra™?
It depends on the individual. Usually there is no redness, but rather small, fine crusts. They will fall off by themselves within 4–6 days – please do not scratch them. Makeup is possible the next day.
How many LaseMD Ultra™ sessions do I need?
We usually schedule three sessions at intervals of one month. However, depending on the situation and combination, one session may be sufficient. In studies as well, three treatments were usually administered at one-month intervals. We determine how many treatments you need based on the AURA 3D skin analysis.
How long does the result of LaseMD Ultra™ last?
Nearly every client asks this question – and it leads us down the wrong path. Skin quality isn't a repair that works or doesn't work, but a characteristic that is built up and maintained, much like dental hygiene or training. After the treatment, we recommend a 'top-up' every couple of months. Those who stay on track start at a higher level each time.
Can I have LaseMD Ultra™ in the summer too?
Yes. Unlike IPL, the Thulium laser does not require unpigmented skin. For tanned skin, we adjust the settings. After a sunburn, we wait until the skin has healed, and then SPF 50 is mandatory.
Does LaseMD Ultra™ work on darker skin tones?
Yes. Because the energy is absorbed via water and not via melanin, the treatment can be adjusted for different skin tones. We individually adjust the power and density and discuss the procedure during the analysis.
What is the difference between LaseMD Ultra™ and IPL?
IPL works with light that is absorbed by color in the skin, namely melanin and blood pigment. LaseMD Ultra™ works with laser energy that is absorbed by water. Therefore, IPL requires unpigmented, contrast-rich skin, whereas LaseMD Ultra™ is available year-round and for every skin tone – with adjusted settings.
Can I combine LaseMD Ultra™ with other treatments?
Yes. HydraFacial™ or a peel are performed before the laser in the same session so that it can target cleansed skin. Volnewmer® RF can also be added in the same session. Fillmed NCTF® and PolyPhil™ are also possible on the same day.
When is LaseMD Ultra™ not possible?
We do not treat skin with sunburn or fresh self-tanner, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, with active herpes or skin infections in the treatment area, with active cancer in the treatment area, and under the age of 18. After an isotretinoin treatment, we wait at least six months. We will discuss photosensitizing medications in advance. We do not treat skin changes that require medical evaluation.
How much does LaseMD Ultra™ cost in Zurich?
